It is a blessing to be surrounded by so many gals, and even from 1,200 miles away, I know I can always count on my girlfriends for anything.
The power of a female friendship is like no other; for me, my female friendships are sources of strength, inspiration, and growth. All of my girlfriends are sisters to me.
I have about a dozen super close friends, and I can honestly tell you that our friend group is strong and everlasting.

Female friendships are incredible sources of comfort for those times when you need to vent, cry, or whine, no matter the time or day. I remember the countless moments that my friends and I would sit around a circle and just talk; we’d talk about school, life, gossip, and more. It seems that when girlfriends gather together – even after a long period of time – conversations pick right back up where they left off. I know my gals can always give me some great advice as well. We have become emotionally attached to one another.
A female friendship group consists of an amazing group of women who challenge and support one another through everything, no matter how far away they may be from each other. My friendship circle experienced both middle school and high school together, and for some of us, even elementary school. From attending school functions and surviving classes, to celebrating birthdays, driver’s licenses, and graduations, we were in it together. That very experience of growing up together has become the foundation of our friendship that will last through college and beyond. We understand each other and we have supported one another through our best of times and our worst of times.
We share our secrets, our hopes, our dreams. We share stories about our lives. We are constantly in contact with each other, whether it is via text, Skype, or social media. Female friendships are bound by the adventures, memories, and secrets we share with one another, and the best part is that these secrets have established a foundation of trust and confidence. Everyone has those moments of insecurity, but my girlfriends and I lift each other up. Female friendships thrive on inspiration and encouragement, and they ultimately become a source of strength during major life events, such as graduating college and transitioning into adulthood.
Despite the different hobbies, skills, and passions among us, we somehow always manage to find commonalities between us. These are mainly based on the fact that we share similar experiences. We rely on each other for relationship, dating, and health advice. Since we have grown up together for the majority of our childhood, our academic careers are also something we can all relate to.
Female friendships are special because everyone can relate to each other in some way. A strong squad of girlfriends will encourage, support, and inspire you any day. Even if you are far apart, you can always count on your female friends to answer your phone calls, and you can even set aside some time for a Skype date.
