When applying to jobs, a majority of the time, companies or businesses require you to attach a resume to your application or in a separate email. It’s important to create a resume that helps you stand out because on average most recruiters take six seconds to look at a resume before moving on. Template #1 - Prelude
For anyone who is interested in working in the creative/art/entertainment industry, it is especially important to have a resume that catches an employer’s attention. This prelude resume gives you the ability to change colors and to help you organize your skills, experience, and so forth. This template gives you the ability to put your own personal touch to it. This resume is modern with a twist. You can use this resume for the health field, education field, financial field, and office jobs in general. It’s modern and meant to have a well-structured design but the colored rectangle box on the left helps to make your resume stand out. Pick a color that isn’t too bright or dark. It should be a neutral color but enough to stand out and make your resume noticeable.

If you are planning to work with computers or anything related to designing, this resume is perfect. It is a two-column layout resume to help you section off categories and make each item pop. You can change the color of the headings to better represent you, but this resume is to help you rank your skills and help you organize everything overall. You can add a photo as well to help employers remember you but also help you to stand out. It’s great to add a photo so that it’s easier for employers to put a face to a name and it will help them remember you more.

For those of you who want a more simple resume while also standing out, this is perfect for you! You can use it for the technical and engineering field but you can also use it to apply to the business and entertainment industries. The colors of this resume is meant to highlight each section of the resume without being too overwhelming. It’s simple and modern but still can help you stand out. So if you’re not interested in the glams or overdoing your resume with too many colors, then this resume set up is more ideal for you.
Template #5 - Professional Orange
This orange is normally not in resumes but the color helps your resume to pop. If the orange makes you uncomfortable, you can switch it out to a color that you prefer. But this is a clean, professional resume with a dash of color to make your resume look more unique. The colored boxes are meant to help employers to easily find your skills, experience, education and so forth. It’s clean and professional.
