Most folks love waffles. The question is, how many have experienced their full capacity of deliciousness? Here is a list of seven creative ways you can enjoy waffles, whether you eat them thawed from the freezer or hot off the griddle.
Anyone who’s had waffles has probably paired them with maple syrup and butter. For a twist (or if you’re in a pinch and ran out of syrup), experiment with jam, cream cheese, peanut butter, marshmallow fluff, or Nutella. Any combination will be delicious, no matter how zany. But cream cheese and raspberry jam is a winning duo you should try at least once.
Pair your waffles with eggs for the ultimate breakfast powerhouse on the go. Just scramble up a few eggs, spoon into the center of your waffle, and melt an abundance of cheese on top. You can jazz up the flavors with a sprinkle of minced spring onion and hot sauce.
Or, for a more sophisticated take, make waffles a la Florentine, with hollandaise sauce over poached or easy-over eggs on a bed of sautéed spinach.
Take a parfait and a waffle, mix them together, and what do you get? A waffle-parfait-hybrid, of course. This idea is perfect for a Tupperware snack that’s easy to assemble. Pack your ingredients separately. When you’re ready to eat, layer your favorite yoghurt and fruit over cold waffles and sprinkle with granola. Tangy, sweet, creamy, and salty, these little bombs will be star of your next party if you can resist nibbling long enough for your guests to arrive.
